Privacy & cookies

This page explains what apeks.tech measures, how, and what choice you have. In short: the site works fully without cookies, and anything that isn't essential only runs if you say yes.

Always on — no cookies, no identity

We record a lightweight, cookieless usage signal for every visit (page path, referring domain, device type, language) to see which pages are useful. It carries no cookie and no identifier that could tie it to you across visits, your IP address is not stored, and it is skipped entirely if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. This runs regardless of the choice below.

Only with your consent

The rest is optional and off by default (opt-in). A banner asks the first time you visit; choosing Decline keeps everything below switched off, and you can change your mind any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

Analytics

If you accept, we use Google Analytics (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used — pages visited, session behaviour, scroll depth, on-site clicks (e.g. sharing an article, opening HullSnap or Apeks Marine, a newsletter signup). IP addresses are anonymised in GA4. Neither is used for advertising.

Advertising — Meta Pixel

If you accept, and only on visits reached through or exposed to an Apeks Tech ad campaign, we also load the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel. This shares data with Meta so we can measure and improve ad performance. It reports:

A page view on every page.
A view event on our campaign landing pages, so we know an ad led somewhere relevant.
A lead event when you submit the newsletter sign-up form.
Engagement events (playing a campaign video, sharing it, downloading a linked resource) on our seafarers campaign page specifically.

We do not send Meta the wider on-site behaviour data described above (article reads, unrelated link clicks) — only the events listed here, and only once you've accepted. Meta processes this under its own privacy policy; Google's applies to GA4 (policy) and Microsoft's to Clarity (policy).

Your choice

Declining, or never answering the banner, means none of the tools above run — the cookieless signal described first is the only thing recorded, and every page, tool and form on apeks.tech works exactly the same either way.
