Fleet risk self-assessment

Twelve questions an owner can answer from memory; a profile of where the fleet is exposed. This is not a prediction model — the scoring is equal-weighted and fully visible, and the point is not the number but the two or three dimensions it flags, each with a concrete first step. Anonymous by construction: answers never leave your browser.

1 Where does the fleet sit against inspection age triggers (RightShip) and charterer age policies?
2 Do all vessels that need a valid commercial inspection (SIRE / RightShip) have one, with renewal dates diarised?
3 Any PSC detention across the fleet in the last 24 months?
4 Is the fleet's deficiency count per inspection rising, flat or falling over the last 12 months?
5 How many inspection observations are open beyond their target close-out date?
6 Are there safety-critical PMS jobs overdue anywhere in the fleet right now?
7 Do weekly vessel reports arrive with numbers against baselines — or adjectives ("all normal")?
8 Is there a channel that captures what worries the chief engineer BEFORE it becomes a defect?
9 Is the EU ETS / FuelEU cost of a voyage known BEFORE fixing, per voyage?
10 Do senior officers (Master / CE) return to the same vessels, with documented handovers?
11 Where does vessel information live — one place, or scattered across email, WhatsApp and spreadsheets?
12 Does an incident file typically stand on its own — sequence, root cause, actions with dates, fleet-wide lesson?

Questions

Is my data sent anywhere when I answer?

No. The assessment runs entirely in your browser: answers are never transmitted, logged or stored, and they reset when you leave the page. If you choose to subscribe at the end, only the email form you fill is sent — never your answers.

Is the score a prediction of detention or vetting outcomes?

No. It is a structured self-audit with equal, visible weights — twelve dimensions, 0-2 points each. The number is only a summary; the value is the two or three dimensions flagged weakest, each with a concrete first step. Anything that claims to predict your detention risk from twelve clicks deserves skepticism.

Why do several first steps point at reporting rather than hardware?

Because in a fleet, most late surprises are information failures before they are machinery failures: the trend nobody charted, the concern nobody wrote down, the figure buried in a mailbox. Reporting discipline is the cheapest risk control an owner can buy.
