New Cooperation Targets Scrubber Reliability
Everllence’s multi-brand lifecycle service arm, PrimeServ Omnicare, has entered a strategic cooperation with ME Production, a specialist in exhaust gas cleaning systems (EGCS), to strengthen lifecycle support for scrubbers. According to a report by Maritime Executive, the agreement is designed to help vessel operators plan and carry out scrubber maintenance more efficiently during scheduled drydockings.
Scrubbers have become standard equipment for ships running on high-sulphur fuel, but keeping them compliant and reliable over the long term presents ongoing challenges. Operators frequently struggle with component wear, system reliability issues, shifting regulatory demands, and the difficulty of scoping the right maintenance work ahead of a drydocking.
Scope of the Joint Service
Under the cooperation, Everllence and ME Production will offer a combined package covering condition assessments, maintenance planning, repair recommendations, and on-site execution support throughout the drydocking process. The intent is to catch maintenance needs early, so necessary work can be completed while the vessel is already out of service — reducing the chance of unplanned failures, limiting follow-up repair costs, and supporting better equipment performance over time.

Kim Pedersen, Chief Commercial Officer at ME Production, said the partnership pairs his company’s scrubber expertise with Everllence PrimeServ’s service network and structured planning approach, aiming to help vessels leave the shipyard with reliable systems that meet current standards.
Thomas Andreassen, Global Business Development Manager for Omnicare at Everllence PrimeServ, said the goal is to avoid situations where a component issue surfaces months after a drydocking, when it could have been addressed while the ship was already out of service. He noted that defining the correct maintenance scope before docking begins, and executing it properly, improves reliability and reduces operational risk.
