Third Award in Under a Year

Intermoor, the Moorings and Anchors business line of Acteon, has secured its third contract with Brazilian oil and gas operator Petrobras within less than a year, according to a report by Offshore Energy. The new agreement covers inspection, preservation, maintenance and operational readiness services for subsea interconnection, mooring and anchoring materials.

Scope of the Three-Year Contract

Under the deal, which runs for three years, Intermoor will provide integrated services across a range of mooring components, including chains, steel wire ropes, anchors, connectors, load collars, anode collars, adapters and other load handling accessories.

The work covers visual and dimensional inspection of mooring materials and accessories, along with non-destructive testing methods such as magnetic particle and liquid penetrant testing. Additional services include cleaning and surface preparation, surface treatment and painting for preservation, as well as maintenance, repair, replacement and reconditioning of anchoring components. The contract also includes handling, transportation where required, storage and preservation of materials.

As part of the project, Intermoor will allocate 20,000 square meters for temporary storage of Petrobras materials undergoing maintenance at its Açu Port yard.

Company Response

Marcos Passos, General Manager of Intermoor do Brasil, described the award as a sign of confidence in the company’s local team. “Being selected again shows the trust placed in our local team and our ability to deliver consistent, high-quality services across complex offshore assets,” he said.

Passos added that Intermoor, marking twenty years of operations in Brazil, continues to support complex offshore projects with what he called proven local expertise, and thanked Petrobras for its continued confidence in the partnership.

Context

The contract is the latest in a series of recent awards between Acteon’s business lines and Petrobras, following an earlier multi-million-dollar contract involving three Acteon firms. It underscores continued activity between offshore service providers and Petrobras around mooring, anchoring and subsea infrastructure maintenance in Brazilian waters.
