What is this RightShip RISQ checklist?
It is a preparation checklist to walk a dry bulk vessel before a RightShip inspection — the point being to prevent the observation, not just answer it afterwards. It is organised by operational area and, within each area, by three lenses: the physical condition, the records behind it, and the crew’s familiarity with both. It runs entirely in your browser.
Does it contain the RISQ question set?
No. The RISQ questionnaire is RightShip’s and is not reproduced here. This checklist is built from generic operational areas and good-practice preparation, not from RightShip’s questions — treat it as a preparation walk, not a copy of the inspection.
When does a RightShip inspection apply to my vessel?
For most dry bulk vessels the trigger is the revised, phased inspection age trigger, which steps down through 2026 and 2027. Enter your vessel’s delivery date in the age trigger checker on this site to see exactly when each phase catches it.
How is RISQ different from SIRE 2.0?
SIRE 2.0 is OCIMF’s tanker inspection regime; RISQ is the questionnaire used in RightShip inspections, which govern much of the dry bulk trade. If you operate tankers, use the SIRE 2.0 preparation checklist on this site instead — the preparation logic is the same, the regime is not.
Does this tool send my data anywhere?
No. Nothing you tick is transmitted, logged or stored on any server, and there is no sign-in. Your ticks are saved in your own browser (localStorage) so you can close the tab and continue later; the reset button clears them. Use the print button to keep a copy.
